How to edit a PDF in your browser
PDF Master Editor lets you add content and arrange pages without uploading your PDF to a file-processing server. Start with a document on your device, make your changes and download an edited copy.
Open the free PDF editor →1. Open your document
Choose Open PDF or drop a PDF onto the workspace. A page preview appears in the center and thumbnails appear on the left. You can also try the sample document before opening your own file. The browser version accepts files up to 100 MB; smaller files work more smoothly on phones.
2. Add and edit new text
Select Text, then click the page where you want your note. Type in the text box directly. Click an added text box to change its words, use backspace to remove characters, or press Enter to finish. Drag its dotted handle to move it. The color, size and opacity controls adjust a selected object.
3. Insert an image or logo
Choose Image and select a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device. Select the image to move it and drag the corner to resize it. Transparent PNG images keep their transparent background. WebP images are converted to PNG locally for PDF compatibility.
4. Draw a handwritten signature
Choose Sign and draw with a mouse, finger or stylus. Use Clear to start again, then Insert signature to place it on the page. Move and resize the signature before downloading. It is a signature image, not a certificate-based digital signature.
5. Highlight, stamp and draw
Select Highlight and drag over a line. Draw freehand notes, rectangles, circles, lines or arrows using the toolbar. Choose Stamp to add APPROVED, REJECTED, REVIEWED, SUBMITTED, CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, PAID, RECEIVED or your own stamp text. Select an added object and use Delete selected to remove it.
6. Organize pages
Open the three-dot menu beneath a thumbnail to move a page up or down, rotate it, duplicate it, extract it as its own PDF, or delete it. Delete asks for confirmation. Use Blank page to insert a new page after the current one. At least one page must remain.
7. Undo and download
Use Undo and Redo to step through edits. Keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z, or the corresponding Command shortcuts on a Mac. Download PDF creates a new file with your added content embedded. Your original file is unchanged. Changes are held in the current browser session, so download before closing or refreshing.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
This version rejects encrypted and editing-restricted PDFs. Open an authorized unrestricted copy. Editing a PDF that already contains a certificate signature can invalidate that signature; the editor warns before proceeding.
Do the edits remain after downloading?
Added content is saved into the downloaded PDF. It can be viewed in other PDF readers. The added objects can be adjusted individually during the current editing session; reopening the exported PDF shows them as saved page content.
